Title: Sherpa | Submitted by: dswain | Written by: Doug Swain | Style: None

A sherpa gripped by unease
Lost his people and still carries their load
The thru-hiker traveling alone
On his way but with no hands but his own
Don't forget the hopeless hobo
SOBO with nothin' - nothin' left but to roam

All of them so close, all of them so desperate
Desperate to see the end
With no person close by
In heart or in form
It's so hard, so very hard
To keep seeing the reasons why

But there is one, if only one
The studious beginner with no teacher,
No teacher left to follow
They never forget what they're told
What they're taught, and remember what to hold
Enjoy the walk and go forth
They're remember to always look forward
Until the end
