"Okay Doug"
It can be taken in such ways
On paper, an innocent nothing
In person, an innocent nothing
From context, full potential for anything
It's phrases like these that make me miss
Minutes, Hours, Days...
Lost in communcation and overtranslation
It's question enough why I must question so much
The true core that I want to leech
Comes from the power of a seed
Soil, sand, erosion, the mountain.
And a smile comes right along with it too.
Yet the words of my own
Outside and of self-mind
Attempt to override
Hold solitude back from me

When I awake from this daydream
I'm a few drinks deep
Taking in the high lights
The bright blues of warning
The dull oranges to warmer places
As people and places come and go
Oh, yet another daydream once again.

Me and the other strangers of the dark,
Cold, cold windy dark
March to the towers that marks a crumbling spirit
A rising loss
Maybe a void of all thought
Find a warm slot in this homeless tower
Beisdes, a few more down
And your daydreams can never come back down

Crowds of strangers and the unfamiliar
Are we all a common wealth?
A union of all those who seek justification
Or is the pipe dream more fresh than the pipe itself?
How can all of us miss the fact?
Then again, wha else could there be?
No questions, just solutions. No answers, either.
Head down in the sink
Another daydream starts again

The time comes for the vacation of the mind to end
The journey back is much more solomn than there
Curiosity and wonder have left.
Now, the wold and universe decide.
And as I pass "Durham - UNH"
I realize it's really hard to complete the thought

Except for one
I'd like to ride that train again.
So I smile instead and sing to myself
"The highway, the moon, the clouds and the stars"
And simply let it be.
All those daydreams, in the night.
