Title: Fury of The Storm | Submitted by: thephonescaresme | Written by: Sean Reardon | Style: Pastoral/Ballad

Part I

Dusty plains
Dancing corn fields
Whirling wind

It’s beauty and terror wrapped into one
Nature’s fury is sure to come

Piercing rain
Mixed with hail
It’s got us pinned

Innocuous items become Death’s tools
Far from calm and quiet, and cool

Aviation’s nightmare
Thunderous roar
A plethora of electricity

This is Mother Nature’s devious move
The sunlight’s battle is here to lose

Cumulonimbus
Distortion and chaos
A great weather complexity

Above and beyond the norm,
Is the fury of this storm

Part II

Sailors and their ship were caught in a storm
Walls of water and winds of great fury
Mother Nature’s most feared minion was born
God’s vengeance was near, He played the jury

The ship and the men were tossed all about
Shipboards buckled and the mast snapped in two
Sailors pleaded and all began to pout
Victims were captured by the vicious blue

One sailor screamed madness at the sky
One crawled below decks to weep
Several watched the atmosphere electrify
All wanted their lives to keep

The fury of the storm raged on and on
It wasn’t likely that they were to see home
A deadly game of chess, sailors are the pawns
Crash of the waves became a metronome

A disaster of epic proportions
Not a single life was spared
The lifeline now complete distortion
Their love for their families goes unimpaired

Their spirits will carry on forever
For each life sleign, a new love is born
Nothing can destroy love, not ever
Not even the fury of the storm
